If you’re not ready to book shows of your own\, how can you get comfortable on a stage? Open mic events can solve the problem. \n\n\nOpen mic nights serve as incubators for beginning musicians\, or for more practiced types\, they are a great way to test new material before throwing it into a big show. For the totally fresh player\, it can be a daunting experience. Here are 9 tips to rock open mic so you will be prepared to take the stage and get the most out of the experience. \n9 Tips to Rock Open Mic \n1. Know what kind of an open mic it is. Do a little research before you attend the event. Open mics are not universally the same. Some are all acoustic (no microphones or plugged-in instruments); some are coffeehouse-style where people sit in silence listening to players; some are jams where a backing band or equipment might be provided. Make a trip down to the open mic you’ve got in mind before you participate\, or contact the host to get the details. \n2. Everyone at an open mic knows it’s an open mic. People there are not expecting a Lady Gaga production to walk through the door. They’re expecting a musician (or possibly a small group) to share some material that might be polished\, or it might be the first time performed on a stage. Don’t stress about what people will think. They understand the spirit of the event. \n3. Feel totally comfortable with your material. DESCRIPTION:Saturday MAR 11\n$8 @ DOOR \n \n\n 4 SKEEVY DUDES\nFrom Jefferson City Missouri four musicians came together to form what is now known as 4 Skeevy Dudes. With an exciting mix of Punk and Ska\, 4 Skeevy Dudes have started making their mark on the music scene. The lead singer-Trinity\, also known as T to his friends\, fronts this collection of talented artists. The energy and enthusiasm he brings to the stage is infectious as the bare footed front man pours sweat giving all that he has in every song to ensure that the crowd feels the music like intended. Guitarist-Joe with his old school punk thrasher drives the music. He rocks on his low riding guitar slamming the strings with every down stroke\, producing a sound that any punk fan would love. Drummer-Chris pours his heart and sole into every show. Numerous times the drum set is vacated for a quick exhaustion vomit outback and then back on the drums…not missing a beat. Trinity Scott (vocals)\, Joe Amsden (guitar\, vocals)\, Chris Loeffler (drums)\, Jonathan Hagood (bass) \nFACEBOOK {4Skeevy Dudes} \nBAND CAMP {4Skeevy Dudes} \n \n \n \n\n\nZak Skinner founder/vocalist/guitarist of Love-Seats \n \n \nLove-Seats are a three-piece band based in Jefferson City\, Missouri\, playing original\, upbeat\, catchy riffs\, steady rhythms\, and melodic feedback with influences from psychedelic and early 60’s rock to proto punk. \nNick Gazca/drummer \n \nFACEBOOK {Love-Seats} \n\n\nJohn Nichols/Guitarist \n \n\n\n\n\n\nDown Side Up was formed in 2006 by 5th graders: Ryan Mankin\, Aaron Mankin\, and Joe Lawler in order to blow Immaculate Conception’s student body’s mind at the 5th grade talent show. The show would go down infamously in history and Down Side Up’s journey would begin. Joe Lawler soon after parted ways\, but will always remain a founding member. In order to prepare for the 7th grade talent show Ryan and Aaron would join forces with friends Jason Kremer (lead guitar) and Adam Buhr (bass). This team in fact did go on to nail their talent show performance and make several house party\, birthday\, and county fair appearances. Freshmen year of high school the band once again parted. Aaron Mankin and Ryan Mankin were soon introduced to Helias High School Senior\, Hunter O’Donnell\, bass player. The three of them and guitarist Jason Kremer once again prepared for yet another talent show but their audition was denied. Ryan Mankin\, Aaron Mankin\, and Hunter O’Donnell\, the current lineup\, began their long jouney of vengeance\, delving deep into themselves and harnessing their Rock n’ Roll chakra. The trio began playing bars/music venues in 2013 at such establishments as the Mission in Jefferson City\, MO and later the Bridge in Columbia\, MO\, now located in Jefferson City. Down Side Up released their first EP “Down Side Up”\, recorded and produced by Pete Szkolka Music Productions\, in March of 2015. The band has since released three singles: “Hollow Street”\, “50 Reasons”\, and “Jibberish”\, recorded and produced by Jack Gue with Winksigh Recorders formerly known as Meth Lab Recording Studio. The boys of Down Side Up play their original music as well as classic rock and 90s covers all over Jefferson City and Columbia\, Missouri\, and are always working on new material which they hope to release in the future. \nFACEBOOK {Down Side Up} \n \n \n \n \nDoc\, Axel & Cole (TRRdZ!!)\n\nTRRdZ is Doc and Cole’s “diet Fail Inc.” project  featuring 12 year old Axel on the drums. (you better come cheer him on!)  Ava Velasquez on bass from Provoke the Colossus has been known to drop by and hold down the pocket. Bring your sober chauffer and we’ll send them home with a gift.\n FACEBOOK LINK {Down Side Up}   \nDown Side Up is a three-piece power trio that plays indie rock\, blues\, jazz\, and classic rock. They are comprised of Aaron Mankin – drums and vocals\, Ryan Mankin-guitar and vocals\, and Hunter O’Donnell- Bass guitar. \n\n\n\n \nDown Side Up was formed in 2006 by 5th graders: Ryan Mankin\, Aaron Mankin\, and Joe Lawler in order to blow Immaculate Conception’s student body’s mind at the 5th grade talent show. The show would go down infamously in history and Down Side Up’s journey would begin. Joe Lawler soon after parted ways\, but will always remain a founding member. In order to prepare for the 7th grade talent show Ryan and Aaron would join forces with friends Jason Kremer (lead guitar) and Adam Buhr (bass). This team in fact did go on to nail their talent show performance and make several house party\, birthday\, and county fair appearances. Freshmen year of high school the band once again parted. Aaron Mankin and Ryan Mankin were soon introduced to Helias High School Senior\, Hunter O’Donnell\, bass player. The three of them and guitarist Jason Kremer once again prepared for yet another talent show but their audition was denied. Ryan Mankin\, Aaron Mankin\, and Hunter O’Donnell\, the current lineup\, began their long jouney of vengeance\, delving deep into themselves and harnessing their Rock n’ Roll chakra. The trio began playing bars/music venues in 2013 at such establishments as the Mission in Jefferson City\, MO and later the Bridge in Columbia\, MO\, now located in Jefferson City. Down Side Up released their first EP “Down Side Up”\, recorded and produced by Pete Szkolka Music Productions\, in March of 2015. The band has since released three singles: “Hollow Street”\, “50 Reasons”\, and “Jibberish”\, recorded and produced by Jack Gue with Winksigh Recorders formerly known as Meth Lab Recording Studio. The boys of Down Side Up play their original music as well as classic rock and 90s covers all over Jefferson City and Columbia\, Missouri\, and are always working on new material which they hope to release in the future. \n    \n\n      \n

The tune is another feel good anthem that will be a staple on your playlist every time you go down the road on a sunny day with the windows down! \nNew Album: ‘Presence’\nLast year Kris released a blues album entitled ‘Blues Lover’ also found under ‘Kris Lager’ on his own Fervent Ameba Records label and this year marks another self-produced and mixed album entitled ‘Presence’.\n“The concept of the album ‘Presence’ is to deliver a sound and vibe that allows the listener to feel the power of the present moment while also reflecting on the past.
