SUMMARY:Open Mic Night by Q Entertainment & The Mission
DESCRIPTION:Doors@4pm \nSignUp@6:30pm\nSHOW@7/No Cover\n\n15 Minute Time Slot includes set up and performance\nMusic – solo/duo/trio or more\, All genres welcome. Poetry\, comedy\, spoken word\, dance. Bring whatya got!\nMinors are welcome\, but will need a parent/guardian to join them.\nEarly Sign Up available for 7:00\, 7:30\, 8:00\, 8:30\, 9:00 and 9:30 through the link below:\n\n \n\nPlease respect your reserved time and arrive 30 minutes ahead of your chosen time.\n\n\n9 Tips to Rock Open Mic\n Featured Article\, How To  Making Music\nAny performer will tell you that you can practice for years in the comfort and privacy of your room\, but it’s not until you take your act to a stage in front of live people that you’ll really hone your craft. If you’re not ready to book shows of your own\, how can you get comfortable on a stage? Open mic events can solve the problem.\n\n\nOpen mic nights serve as incubators for beginning musicians\, or for more practiced types\, they are a great way to test new material before throwing it into a big show. For the totally fresh player\, it can be a daunting experience. Here are 9 tips to rock open mic so you will be prepared to take the stage and get the most out of the experience. \n9 Tips to Rock Open Mic\n1. Know what kind of an open mic it is. Do a little research before you attend the event. Open mics are not universally the same. Some are all acoustic (no microphones or plugged-in instruments); some are coffeehouse-style where people sit in silence listening to players; some are jams where a backing band or equipment might be provided. Make a trip down to the open mic you’ve got in mind before you participate\, or contact the host to get the details. \n2. Everyone at an open mic knows it’s an open mic. People there are not expecting a Lady Gaga production to walk through the door. They’re expecting a musician (or possibly a small group) to share some material that might be polished\, or it might be the first time performed on a stage. Don’t stress about what people will think. They understand the spirit of the event. \n3. Feel totally comfortable with your material. You’ll probably only have a few songs (many open mics are set by a song or time limit\, usually about three songs or 15 minutes @ The Mission)\, so make sure you’re putting your best foot forward. Just in case you get rattled on stage\, make sure you know the tunes in and out.  \n4. Don’t stress about what to bring. Whoever is running the open mic will have equipment for you and they should be fully capable of setting you up with it. If you’ve never plugged in a guitar or sung into a microphone—don’t worry. They’ll make sure you do it right and that it sounds good. That’s part of the Open Mic experience at The Mission. We have a full back line: Guitars – acoustic/electric\, electric & amp and bass & amp. Full drum kit & Yamaha keyboard. Mics\, cables\, stands. And our sound technician is here to help. \n5. Don’t be afraid to ask. Open mic beginners may think they are completely at the host’s mercy. Truth is\, we’re here to make you sound good! That said\, if you can’t hear yourself\, vocals are too loud\, guitar is too quiet\, whatever\, by all means\, tell them! \n6. Don’t be afraid to trust. The host should understand their sound system very well\, so trust that once you’re settled on stage they’re making it sound right out front. If you’re happy with what’s in your monitor sound\, leave the rest to them. We know our system inside and out. It’s a small room and you have 15 minutes. Let us do our job and make the room sound perfect for your performance.  \n7. Support other players. If you don’t want to be judged\, don’t judge other people. Open mics are a place to try material you might not get to try on other stages. Celebrate the people who come to share their art. Cannot emphasize this enough! This is the spirit of Open Mic Nights at The Mission. Enough said. \n8. Network. Open mics are musician hangouts—take advantage! If you’re looking to start a band or find musicians to see elsewhere\, there’s a good chance they’ll be hanging out at an open mic. We’re on Season 12 at The Mission full of Open Mic Stories of success. \n9. Learn from the experience. Every time you walk away from an open mic\, there is something to learn. How were you received? What feedback did people give you? Did you feel more comfortable? How did you compare with the other players? Honestly analyze the event to improve your performance next time. And take the compliments even if you know you made mistakes. You still entertained folks. \n(10) And finally\, HAVE FUN! Open mics are meant\, most of all\, to be fun. Musicians get to mingle\, everyone gets to play\, and even if you have the biggest flub of all time—it’s all in the spirit of open mic. To take the stage at all is to win. Enjoy it\, learn from the experience\, and have a good time! Join us for Open Mic Night\, share some air and feel the Mission Magic!

SUMMARY:Kayla Ray w/special guest Justin Clyde Williams
DESCRIPTION:Doors@4pm \nSHOW@8:30 \n$8@the Door  \n             \nhttps://youtu.be/4bYfeeeBZ9Y https://youtu.be/YrfNtSTgWDU   https://youtu.be/fCoJF2femkQ https://youtu.be/75OYWJ-lO9w \n      \nWEBSITE SPOTIFY TWITTER INSTAGRAM \nWaco\, Texas born singer-songwriter Kayla Ray wipes clean the dust of nostalgia and can bring even the hardest heart to a place of reflection and understanding. All this while remaining feverishly reverent to the roots of country music\, greeting current day affairs head on\, and chasing whiskey shots with the rowdiest banter one can muster. \nCurrently touring both the US as well as Internationally Kayla Ray is a quick rising favorite of the independent scene. Kayla’s latest studio single\, “The Jameson Waltz” (2019) more than quadrupled it’s projected numbers in it’s first quarter. Kayla’s most recent full album release\, “Yesterday & Me” (2018) received high praise in both the United States as well as the UK earning Ray the number 1 spot on Kelly Gregory of \,“Country Music People” Magazine’s\, top albums list of 2018. \nDespite a recent surge\, Kayla Ray is far from new to the scene. Interested in the long game\, Kayla has been at this pursuit the majority of her young life. Kayla’s pedigree comes as an almost novella type story. That of a budding classic. Despite growing up rather hard\, as a child Ray often entered herself into local talent contests and variety shows. Because of these efforts\, Ray was lucky enough to find herself playing often around the Legendary Gimble Family in the Waco\, Texas area. The talent\, kindness\, and class of the Gimble Family remain a large influence for Kayla Ray. \nShe\, then underage and\, in a charge of independence\, booked her first headlining gig at Papa Joes of Lorena\, Texas. Where as she puts it\, “Billy Joe Shaver shot that guy in the face and got away with it.” Kayla built a band and spent a few years touring Texas and taking necessary knocks before making her entry into the national touring scene. She made this entry employed as tour manager for accomplished songwriter Jason Eady. During this time in addition to her tour managing duties\, Kayla opened shows\, sang duets and\, “kept the boys in line”. \nKayla eventually grew from this position and left the job in 2014 to tour independently. Although\, remaining a close confidant\, Jason Eady had a large hand in producing both of Kayla’s full length albums. \nOver the last decade Kayla has received many awards and accolades. And\, in addition to touring with Eady\, Ray has shared stages with artists like Cody Jinks\, Erin Enderlin\, Jo Dee Messina\, Jamie Lin Wilson\, Whiskey Myers\, Mo Pitney\, Marcia Ball\, Reckless Kelly\, Jason Bolen\, The Turnpike Troubadors\, Shane Smith and the Saints\, Ray Wylie Hubbard and countless others. \nFrom honky tonk dance tempos\, to sit you down and contemplate life ballads\, Kayla Ray’s music does not disappoint. Her feverish reverence to country music\, an indisputable work ethic\, stoic beauty\, and massive personality\, make Kayla Ray an embodiment of what country music should be.            \n Justin Clyde Willams Website Justin Clyde Williams FaceBook Justin Clyde Williams Instagram https://youtu.be/AQ5h2i82MBA?t=12 https://youtu.be/k2UJBOx16bE https://youtu.be/qwfiCX4phEc \nArmed with a flat top or backed by a full band\, Justin Clyde Williams takes listeners on an emotional journey with his songs and stories you can relate to no matter where you call home. \nCapturing the full spectrum of life\, the good times and the bad\, most of his songs you’ll hear serve as a soundtrack to his own experiences with love\, death\, heartache and that one time he “ate just a little bit too much of that gummy bear” \nRaised on the sounds of traditional country and bluegrass music with a variety of influences\, when he’s not performing himself\, its not uncommon to see Clyde playing side man for one of his buddies or appearing with Tyler Hatley in the Dick and Tammy show. \nJustin Clyde Williams always leaves people wanting more with an unwavering experience that is blunt\, therapeutic\, candid and above all – unforgettable.  \nJustin Clyde Williams “Wounds” Original.  https://open.spotify.com/artist/2os6M8Uk9phzs6NOxQrNnc?autoplay=true

SUMMARY:Terry Quiett Band
DESCRIPTION:Doors@4 \nSHOW@8 \nAdvanced tix $8 \n@Door $10 \nTABLE RESERVATIONS & TICKETS \n \nFACEBOOK LINK \nWEBSITE LINK \nIn just a few years the Terry Quiett Band has become a mainstay across America’s Heartland. From 6th Street in Austin…to the windy city of Chicago…through the mountains of Colorado…across the deserts of Arizona…jamming down on Beale Street in Memphis…wherever they go the TQB has won over young and old with their energetic and soulful sound. \nAlong the way they have forged relationships with Grammy-winning studio masters Jim Gaines and Blaise Barton\, who have worked with legends of the blues industry such as Stevie Ray Vaughan\, Carlos Santana\, Steve Miller Band\, George Thorogood\, Luther Allison\, Albert Collins\, Pinetop Perkins\, Willie Smith\, Michael Burks and many more. \nJim\, Blaise and Terry first teamed up on the 2011 release Just My Luck (on Lucky Bag Records) exposing the Terry Quiett Band to a national audience for the first time. By the end of 2011 it was listed as #74 on the top 100 played CD’s on the Roots Music Report Blues Chart for the year. They joined forces again in 2012 to record the live CD A Night at the Orpheum which received fantastic reviews from the blues world. \nIn 2014 found Terry and Blaise once again collaborating with Blaise mixing the studio album Taking Sides which was released March 25\, 2014. Taking Sides features 12 original songs (plus a bonus track of the classic Let’s Get It On) and is split into two distinct sides. Side one showcases the rootsy slidework for which Terry is fast becoming known – while side two finds the band tapping into a bluesy\, contemporary twist on vintage Soul and R&B. Two perspectives from one of the most promising artists on the blues scene. \nThe band has spent the last several years on hiatus\, but are jumping back into the scene with a brand-new EP of original music entitled Truth & Intent to be released on May 16\, 2020 at the historic Orpheum Theatre in Wichita\, KS. This album finds Terry reuniting with the original power trio from Cut the Rope and Just My Luck\, featuring his long-time drummer Rodney “Shotgun” Baker and bassist Rev. Aaron Underwood. Truth & Intent contains a batch of energetic and groovy tunes TQB fans will find a fresh extension of the soulful blues rock they love. \nWatch for select shows across the Midwest in support of the new album Truth & Intent. \nTerry Quiett Band has a commanding presence onstage and explodes every power trio cliché by cutting a broad swath of striking original material from haunting Delta blues and sophisticated jazzy swing to chesty rock featuring his flawless guitar technique and deeply soulful vocals. His latest release Just My Luck\, produced by the legendary Jim Gaines is a modern masterpiece of highly charged\, blues-based music.\n~ Dave”Doctor Blues Man”Rubin \n  \n\n\n\nPRESS RELEASES \nhttps://www.bmansbluesreport.com/2014/03/lucky-bag-records-artist-terry-quiett.html \nhttp://indiemusicology.blogspot.com/2014/03/terry-quiett-band-is-taking-sides.html

At the age of 13\, you could find him performing in bars with local adult bands playing guitar\, drums and singing. He paused his public performances after high school\, but never put the guitar down. He was drawn back to the stage in 2012 and has since picked up the mandolin. \nTracy is influenced by a wide variety of musical genres: from punk to country and blues to alt-rock. SUMMARY:WC Edgar {Live at The Mission}
DESCRIPTION:Doors@4pm \nSHOW@8:30 \n$10@Door \n \nFrom the days of riding around in smoke-filled overcrowded rickety vans to million-dollar tour buses\, you could say he’s done it all. \nMoving to Nashville Tennessee with dreams of becoming an artist WC Edgar went to work playing pedal steel guitar for the likes of Alan Jackson\, Tim McGraw\, Opryland USA on the Country Music USA Show at Nashville’s once famed music park\, Ty England\, BB Watson\, Marty Haggard\, Dale Watson\, Leroy Van Dyke\, Lucky Tubb\, Johnny Lee\, Jeff Carson\, Whitey Morgan and many many more. \n\nIt’s often been said that every now and then a really special artist that has what it takes to ‘shake things up’ in the music industry seems to fall through the cracks in the everyday corporate BS\, and backstabbing that goes on in Nashville and WC Edgar is one of those artists’.  In 2003 WC started writing again and the rest is history.  After 9 trips to France\, a 2-week tour of Australia\, a whirlwind 10 shows in 10 cities in 10 days in Spain to Canada\, Sweden\, and most all of the lower 48 US States WC Edgar is living the ‘honky-tonk dream’.  \n\n\nAfter spending a year in what was billed as the ‘live music capitol of the world’ but quickly finding out it wasn’t ‘good music’ and Austin had turned into more of a ‘foodie’ & ‘tech’ town than a ‘music’ town WC moved out of Austin Texas in 2020.  Now headed West with the wind at his back he’s in high gear to finish writing and recording his fifth self penned album that’s scheduled for a May 2021 release followed by a 48-State United States Tour.  \n\n\nWith his trusty Martin HD-28 guitar\, new management\, label\, distribution & new music under his belt in 2021 & influences the likes of songwriters Merle Haggard\, Steve Earle\, David Allan Coe & Jamey Johnson we’d say he’s well on his way to being the world-class American Outlaw singer-songwriter he was always destined to be.  \n\nSo be on the lookout for WC Edgar with his incredible drummer Terrell Clifton from NYC & Kenny ‘Telecaster Master’ Snow from Atlanta touring as a trio asap at a venue near you beginning in September 2021 \n \nWC Edgar “Dallas”\n \n\n \nhttps://youtu.be/OOhZMGX28eQ?t=127\n \nWC Edgar “From Where I Sit”\n \n \n\nWC Edgar “Modern Day Savior”\n \nWC Edgar Website \nWC Edgar FaceBook\nWC Edgar Instagram\nWC Edgar Twitter\nWC Edgar Youtube\nWC Edgar “Man In The Back Seat” \nWC Edgar “Honkey Tonk Heartache” \nWC Edgar “Barrels & Bottles” \nWC Edgar “Mirrors Dont Lie”

Poetry\, comedy\, spoken word\, dance. Bring whatya got!\nMinors are welcome\, but will need a parent/guardian to join them.\nPlease respect your reserved time and arrive 30 minutes ahead of your chosen time.\n\n\n9 Tips to Rock Open Mic \n Featured Article\, How To  Making Music \nAny performer will tell you that you can practice for years in the comfort and privacy of your room\, but it’s not until you take your act to a stage in front of live people that you’ll really hone your craft. If you’re not ready to book shows of your own\, how can you get comfortable on a stage? Open mic events can solve the problem. \n\n\nOpen mic nights serve as incubators for beginning musicians\, or for more practiced types\, they are a great way to test new material before throwing it into a big show. For the totally fresh player\, it can be a daunting experience. Here are 9 tips to rock open mic so you will be prepared to take the stage and get the most out of the experience. \n9 Tips to Rock Open Mic \n1.

SUMMARY:Down Side Up
DESCRIPTION:Doors@4pm\nSHOW@8 pm\nTICKETS $8@Door\n$15 Table Reservations SOLD OUT\n\n FACEBOOK LINK   \n \nDown Side Up was formed in 2006 by 5th graders: Ryan Mankin\, Aaron Mankin\, and Joe Lawler in order to blow Immaculate Conception’s student body’s mind at the 5th grade talent show. The show would go down infamously in history and Down Side Up’s journey would begin. Joe Lawler soon after parted ways\, but will always remain a founding member. In order to prepare for the 7th grade talent show Ryan and Aaron would join forces with friends Jason Kremer (lead guitar) and Adam Buhr (bass). This team in fact did go on to nail their talent show performance and make several house party\, birthday\, and county fair appearances. Freshmen year of high school the band once again parted. Aaron Mankin and Ryan Mankin were soon introduced to Helias High School Senior\, Hunter O’Donnell\, bass player. The three of them and guitarist Jason Kremer once again prepared for yet another talent show but their audition was denied. Ryan Mankin\, Aaron Mankin\, and Hunter O’Donnell\, the current lineup\, began their long jouney of vengeance\, delving deep into themselves and harnessing their Rock n’ Roll chakra. The trio began playing bars/music venues in 2013 at such establishments as the Mission in Jefferson City\, MO and later the Bridge in Columbia\, MO\, now located in Jefferson City. Down Side Up released their first EP “Down Side Up”\, recorded and produced by Pete Szkolka Music Productions\, in March of 2015. The band has since released three singles: “Hollow Street”\, “50 Reasons”\, and “Jibberish”\, recorded and produced by Jack Gue with Winksigh Recorders formerly known as Meth Lab Recording Studio. The boys of Down Side Up play their original music as well as classic rock and 90s covers all over Jefferson City and Columbia\, Missouri\, and are always working on new material which they hope to release in the future.\n    \n                  http://youtu.be/HKRAK5Ay_E0\nhttps://themissionjc.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/16120612_164699394015633_3440849956120821760_n.mp4\nhttps://themissionjc.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/15938959_1479040205457263_8469322117802885120_n.mp4\nhttps://themissionjc.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/15224901_1625336017776250_9039930461769433088_n.mp4\nAaron Mankin – drums and vocals Ryan Mankin-guitar and vocals Hunter O’Donnell- Bass guitar \nhttp://youtu.be/MRKADM-Qw-E\n  \n  \n\n

Bring whatya got!\n\n\nMinors are welcome\, but will need a parent/guardian to join them.\n\n\nPlease respect your reserved time and arrive 30 minutes ahead of your chosen time.\n\n\n\n9 Tips to Rock Open Mic\n Featured Article\, How To  Making Music\nAny performer will tell you that you can practice for years in the comfort and privacy of your room\, but it’s not until you take your act to a stage in front of live people that you’ll really hone your craft.

DESCRIPTION:Doors@4pm \nSHOW@7:30pm \n$5 Cover \nFACEBOOK LINK \nhttps://themissionjc.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/07/Cody-Pursifull.mp4 \n\n\n\n \n“I grew up around music watching my Grandpa play Country & Western to his fans. Watching Hee-Haw and The Grand Ole Opry every night with that same great man added to my inspiration to pursue my passion for music. Once I hit the age of 5 my grandpa started showing me chords on the acoustic guitar which lead to starting guitar lessons with a Missouri Folk Music Legend Lee Ruth at Crazy Music in Columbia\, Missouri. Lee showed me how to put the chords together to form a song and introduced me to Traditional Folk and Bluegrass tunes. I continued lessons with Lee for about 8 years until I discovered the band Free and Jimi Hendrix. These artists steered me towards my love of the Les Paul and the Stratocaster sending me in a different musical direction. As the years went on I have been continuously influenced by bands such as The Allman Brothers\, The Band of Gypsies\, The Grateful Dead\, and Cream. Because of these influences I became partial to what is known as “The Southern Sound” or “Southern Rock”. It was that exact sound that paved the road ahead of me in my music career. Although “The Southern Sound” is my first love\, I still yearned for something more. This yearning sparked my journey with Solo Acoustic performances playing Old Gospel and traditional folk tunes. In 2010 my mother moved to New York City and I would soon follow her to experience the Big Apple myself. After living in New York City a year and a half I never really found a place I felt musically comfortable with. After the Towers fell on 9/11 I knew at that moment it was time go back home to Missouri where my heart truly lies. Once back in the Show Me State I started to immerse myself into the music scene of Columbia\, Missouri. I religiously attended the local Blues Jams and eventually befriended Ted & Shelly Tyson. The Tyson’s had a Chicago style Blues band called Serious Blues Band and they quickly invited me to become a member. We played our hearts out for 5 years before that yearning for something more started to overcome me and I made the decision to try my hand at forming my own band. I established The Highwater Band in 2014 with fellow bandmates Don Atchley and The Jolly Brother’s bassist Tim Shields. The excitement of my electric band needed some balance\, so I decided to go back that old Folk\, Country\, and Bluegrass music learning as many songs as I could to continue down the path of my solo acoustic career. Musical inspirations such as Jerry Garcia\, Kevin Welch\, and Bob Dylan added to my influence. After 3 years with The Highwater Band we parted ways in the Summer of 2017. Parting ways was a bitter sweet moment\, but it encouraged me to really find my place and allowed me more time to focus my energy on acoustic endeavors. I started writing my own songs with the first hit being a tune called “End Of The Line”. I pulled my inspiration from my moments living in New York City during 9/11 and the following year I wrote “Graveyard Showdown” building on those same experiences. I wanted to pay tribute to that same great man to started the whole thing and composed “His Guitar”. Music is more than just notes on a paper and words on a sheet\, its about the looks on fans faces after hearing my tunes which for me is priceless.” – Cody Pursifull

SUMMARY:Kris Lager Band {RETURNS!}
DESCRIPTION:Doors@6pm \nSHOW@8:30pm \nTickets @DOOR $10 \nTable Reservations $20 SOLD OUT \nFACEBOOK {Kris Lager Band}\nWEBSITE {Kris Lager Band} \n \nKris Lager is a one-of-a-kind songwriter\, guitarist\, singer\, keyboardist\, and entertainer. An intense and charismatic performer who has traveled across the country honing his craft over the last two decades . He has developed a unique ‘Celebrate Life’ message and mantra that emanates with every performance. A message that creates a congregation of dancing\, singing\, and clapping people with smiles on their faces at every show.\nMany of his peers are calling him: “One of the most gifted songwriters of his generation.”\nWorld renowned musician Andy Frasco recently called Kris “His favorite songwriter!” on his ‘World Saving Podcast’ and said a lot of the songs for which he has built his ‘positive’ foundation on were written by Kris. Legendary Rock ‘n’ Roll Producer\, who has mixed two of Kris’ albums\, Jim Gaines (Santana\, SRV\, Van Morrison\, Steve Miller) says Kris has “A great voice and great songs!” Paste Magazine calls the music “The kind of toe-tapping rhythm that sometimes you just need to make it through a day.”\nA Lincoln native based out of Omaha\, Nebraska\, Kris and his band have built a reputation as a hardworking Independent band refusing to play by industry rules or pander for awards and accolades. They just hit the road and the stage with an intense purpose of uplifting and engaging audiences while delivering a flavorful gumbo of feel good rhythms and soulful songs.\nNew album: ‘Blues Lover’\nIt seems like a lot of folks have gotten rather nostalgic throughout this past year and a half of the pandemic and it is safe to say Kris Lager has too. He found himself going back to his blues roots; back to where he started when he first picked up a guitar.\nHis first stage experiences were at a weekly Blues Jam at Duggan’s Pub in Lincoln\, Nebraska and also playing at the world famous Zoo Bar. Kris Frequently played alongside Nebraska Blues legends such as Magic Slim\, Lil’ Slim\, Baby Jason\, and Sean Benjamin. All of them nurturing and inspiring his love for blues music.\n“I’ve never released a straight up blues record before and I thought.. you know what? I’m gonna go for it. I’m gonna record these songs that I’ve been playing for twenty years and just have some fun.” said Kris. Eight of his most beloved blues songs as well as two original tunes comprise the new album ‘Blues Lover’.\nThere’s two Albert King tracks\, a Shuggie Otis tune as well as Buddy Guy\, Paul Butterfield\, Shawn Holt\, Snooky Pryor\, and Blind Lemon Jefferson covers on the recording rounded out by two original songs: ‘I Just Want To See You happy’ and ‘Back Home To The Blues’ co-written by Mark Ryan.\nThe album was recorded and mixed by Kris Lager himself at his studio ‘The Conduit’ and released on his label ‘Fervent Ameba Records’. The first of many self-produced recordings according to Kris. All songs were recorded live straight to tape using his legendary Tascam 388 tape machine. “This recording was exactly the sound I was going after. A squishy analog sound that gives the listener an old school vibe. A vibe that I really dig as a blues lover and I think other blues lovers will too. With the help of Doug Van Sloun from Focus Mastering I believe we achieved a great sounding recording.” exclaims Kris.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n\nScooby Sha Bo Bo AKA John Fairchild\nThe heartbeat of the band.\nHe’s been traveling and laying down the groove for KLB for over a decade.\nHe is one of the most dynamic drummers you will ever witness and a freestylist extraordinaire!!\n \n \n\n \nhttps://themissionjc.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/22746792_127649104610607_7958935468798640128_n.mp4 \nFor well over a decade The Kris Lager Band has been a vehicle for Kris Lager’s unique brand of original music. Self described as ‘Heavy Soul & Boogie Trance’ KLB doesn’t fall neatly into any one category or genre. The best way to categorize them would be ‘Feel Good Music’ because as soon as it hits you\, you just feel good! Whether it is a funky soulful number\, a groovy beat\, a boogie guitar driven riff\, or a tug on your heart strings ballad. A KLB song or show has that ability to just lift you up and make you feel good EVERYTIME!!\nA KLB show is a legitimate Rock ‘n’ Roll Revival and an Electric Church. The energy this band throws out from the drop of the first note creates a feel good dancing\, singing\, and hollering great time. One that is truly contagious and impossible to sit still through. Kris Lager is one of the most dynamic front men you’ll ever witness with an unrivaled level of intensity and showmanship. He delivers raw\, and powerful music through his emotional guitar playing and singing.\nThis brand of ‘Feel Good Music’ all begins with intentions. “I began playing music and writing music purely as a means of expression.” says Kris. “Put me in a crowded room and I wouldn’t say two words\, but if you gave me a guitar and a microphone you would have to kick me off of the stage. I found music to be a wonderful safe haven in which I could exist and escape to whenever I desired. As I matured and grew I realized just how much joy could come from communicating with your bandmates and entertaining people\, all the while expressing myself at the same time.”\nAs soon as Kris hits the stage you get the feeling you are witnessing a man on a mission. “I hit the stage with one intention and that is lifting up spirits. I believe the way to do that is through awareness of myself and others. It is something I call ‘The Holy Trinity of music’. There is me\, the musician\, and then my bandmates (or the people I am creating the music with)\, and then there is the audience. When I am in constant awareness of all three elements that is when the real magic happens. That is what I strive for as a performer\, musician\, and songwriter.”\nThat is just scratching the surface of all of the nuances and ingredients that went into this record and whats behind KLB. Please download or pick up the CD and help keep these troubadours on the road. There are also plenty of music in KLB’s back catalogue to dig into\, and definitely go see KLB whenever they come to your neck of the woods. They will change your life!\nCELEBRATE LIFE!!!\nThe Legendary Bluesman\, Tab Benoit is also a fan. Proclaiming “These guys are the real deal! Go see them whenever they come to your town!” He produced and recorded KLB’s 2013 release ‘Platte River Runaway’ at his home studio in Houma\, Louisiana. Soon after they worked with Tab Benoit they went to San Francisco and recorded with Bay area funk maestros\, Monophonics at their Transistor Studios. The result was 2014’s ‘Heavy Soul & Boogie Trance’ mixed by Orgone’s Sergio Rios. The release caught the attention of Ohio’s Colemine Records\, who released two of the tracks as a 45 and also featured the release on their internationally distributed Soul Slabs LP.\n \n \n \n \n2010 @ The Mission….we love us some Kris Lager Band!
