The Toad Tappers are a five-piece band that can bring a mash-up of blues, alt-country, and rockin’ Americana. David handles most of the vocals, rhythm guitar and harmonica; Marshall provides lead guitar and vocals; Doug brings the thump with the bass guitar; Alan plays pedal steel, dobro and vocals ranging from deep baritone to falsetto; and Daniel handles the percussion and some vocals. The guys have played together and with other bands for the past two decades, bringing together a sound influenced by the likes of Little Feat, Wilco, John Hiatte, Johnny Cash, Gillian Welch, J.J. Cale, John Prine and, um, George Gershwin (really). The Toad Tappers do some unexpected covers, and listeners will also get a steady dose of originals. You’ll find the Toad Tappers will keep your toes tapping.
