Simultaneously energetic and thought-provoking, street-wise and socially conscious, the Jefferson City-based quartet, Wridacule and the Rapture, is rapper Darrius Groves, Jordan Fallon on drums, Nichole Acree Fallon on violin, and Nick Gazca on bass.

Before becoming a hip-hop power ensemble, esteemed solo rapper Darrius and jazz drummer Jordan began experimenting throwing down raps and beats on a sample pad alongside producer, Mokali (Steven Nwogu) in 2016. They envisioned crafting a live acoustic rendition of modernized electronic samples, hence the emergence of Wridacule and the Rapture.

Having worked in various side projects together as African classical duo Damu Jua and indie folk band Andrés Gazca, Jordan brought classical violinist Nichole and multi-instrumentalist Nick on board in 2018 and have been on a rule bending musical journey ever since.

Wridacule and the Rapture channels jazz improvisations, lush ballads, trappy acoustic drill tracks, and moody hip-hop melodies; sounding something along the lines of an eclectic jam session entangled amidst Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, and MF Doom.
