Welcome Home works to provide at-risk Veterans with temporary housing, programs and services, leading them to independence. Welcome Home is a Veteran only transitional living program that facilitates recovery through social responsibility and personal engagement. We provide full wrap-around services for homeless and at-risk Veterans that address three main long-term goals; increased residential stability, increased skill level and/or income, and greater self-determination of participants. Since its establishment in 1992, Welcome Home has evolved from simply a shelter into a transitional living facility committed to providing emergency food and clothing, a clean, stable living environment, case management, and advocacy to disadvantaged and displaced Veterans. Veterans that reside at Welcome Home struggle with physical and/or mental disabilities coupled with chronic instability in employment and housing. Our ability to provide comprehensive wrap-around services to homeless Veterans sets us apart from other community service providers, and the dedicated leadership of our board members, the day-to-day management by our committed and experienced staff, and the generosity of many local community service organizations has made a significant difference in the Columbia area community. Our vision is to end Veteran homelessness.
