Grand Villanova & Mercury Trio
MERCURY TRIO

Mercury Trio plays the kind of blues that is almost rock. And the kind of rock you might have heard at the Royal Albert Hall in ’68 or the Fillmore East in ’70. They play 60’s girl group songs with a “Wind Cries Mary” type of feeling. They take songs from genres that aren’t blues and make them that. Mercury Trio is about guitars, bass, drums, and vocals. Guitar solos and extended jams. Mercury Trio plays from the soul.
Mercury Trio is a live band that is meant to be seen live. Every show is different, every performance of every song is different, every set list is different, and always will be. Thanks to everyone who shares the moment with us.
Ugly, beautiful, haunting, driving or grooving. The only thing to definitely expect is the unexpected. ..
Ben Drummond–Bass and Vocals
Byron Neighbors–Guitar and Vocals
John Lazar–Drums
Imre Komaromi–Bass (In Memorium)

The goal isn’t simply to show up and play, but to put on a show. The Kansas City trio consisting of Justin Murray, Kevin Perrette, and Josh Blythe (who all come from wildly different musical backgrounds) present a sound and style all their own. Finding the perfect balance of rock, alternative, and blues is an art that has been crafted and perfected by the young and exuberant trio. Grand Villanova is capturing audiences everywhere and showing them that music has no boundaries. Drawing from rock, alternative rock, blues, and soul, Grand Villanova is transforming the way people think about music. Based out of Kansas City, the group has performed throughout various clubs in the Kansas City area as well as surrounding states and earned the opening spot for multiple international artists. Having recorded their first EP in the fall of 2013, the album is already being met with much praise and reception. Moving over 2000 units in the first 12 months of it’s release and earning numerous spots on local radio, the band has proven they have what it takes to take things to the next level. The band will be returning to the studio this winter to record their first full length album.
