Dennis Layne: Singer and multi-instrumentalist from Barton County, Missouri. He gladly gave up piano lessons after he found an old guitar in Grandpa’s attic. Went to trade school by hanging out where music was made. More than 50 years later, he’s still picking and singing. Dennis was a member KFAL radio’s Rooster Creek Boys as singer and guitarist for 10 years. Sang and played mandolin with the Ironweed Bluegrass Band for 15 years. As a skilled sideman, he’s played electric and acoustic guitar, mandolin, steel guitar, Dobro with fellow artists. He’s worked in many tavern bands, or as one-fool-on-a-stool with a guitar. Dennis sings about life, love, and losing in an Ozark/Okie style. He loves to entertain with an instrument in his arms — and he can usually find a tune that will make you want to laugh, cry, or dance.
