The Clay Creek Band
Classic Rock, Classic Country & Blues!!
Joe Crites has been around music his entire life , from deep country roots to rock and roll , bluegrass and soul , playing and singing an eclectic variety of music has been his joy !! The forming of band has always been a dream of his and has finally come to pass ! He puts his heart into his music and also his soul.
Clay Richmond a life long musican plays bass for The Clay Creek Band.
Although Clay plays many stringed instruments he says he has a special connection with the bass guitar. There is just something about holding down the low end of the band he loves.
Kevin Fasken began playing guitar when he was 14 when his interest was mostly heavy metal bands like Metallica, AC/DC, and Guns N’ Roses. The only guitar teacher he could find in his hometown of Carthage Missouri played bluegrass, so he learned both styles. Later his interests changed to alternative and classic rock, jazz, classic country, indie rock, and good music from nearly every style. He is looking forward to making some great music with the band in central Missouri and destinations beyond.
Bob Shaffer –Â “Bob, born & raised in the MIdwest, is a “late-bloomer” to the band scene, although his father’s family has deep-seated musical roots originating from the hills of Virginia & Tennessee. Bob learned a little piano early on, & even took several steel guitar lessons as a youngster, but didn’t continue, being “all caught up” in the 60’s British rock & roll invasion. To Bob, the “hip”, popular music of the day made better sense. So, during that time while in junior high school, he started(ala the band director’s encouragement) learning the drums, which became almost second nature to him. Then, being self-taught, Bob went on to play in high school orchestra, concert, marching, jazz & pep bands. After graduating he pretty much “laid down the sticks”, and, except for an occasional jam with friends, pursued married & family life for the next several decades. On approaching retirement, Bob began to consider what he’d like to be doing in his senior years, after his four children had grown & moved on. Since music was “in his blood”(& about the only thing he knew anything about), he decided to once again “pick up the sticks”, begin practicing & FIND A BAND! Three years & a couple of bands later, the timing has brought Bob to join the Clay Creek Band.
