~The Terrible Twos~

If your band is in the midst of the terrible twos, expect that you’ll occasionally lose patience with them. Try to stay calm, however. When your band has a temper tantrum, offer comfort or ignore the behavior. Try to limit your use of the word “no.” Instead, use other forms of discipline, such as redirection or humor. Also, consider avoiding challenging situations — such as requesting Wagon Wheel during your band’s break time — and be sure to praise your band for appropriate musicational behavior.

We started playing the 1st Thursdays of the month at The Mission in April of 2012. It was our second gig. Do come celebrate 2 years of The Kay Brothers and the 2 Year Anniversary of 1st Thursdays with us! With all the stuff and things goin on right meow, it also looks as if this will be The Kay Brothers‘ first, and last show of April.

So, we’re gonna ramp it up a bit for you fine folks. Our buddy Shane Ferguson will be sittin’ in on tenor & bari sexaphones[sic]! We’ve only done this once… and it was most b.a.
